Five grown up HeartKids have featured in two articles in a recent heart special by The West Australian’s Health and Medicine section.
The first article touched on the recovery of four teenage HeartKids who first met 18 years ago following their heart surgeries. Coined the 'Zipper kids' due to their zipper-like scars running down their chests, the heart kids have all gone on to lead happy and healthy lives.
The second article tells the story of Heidi Murphy a survivor of a congenital heart disease whose two children are now struggling with the disease.
